VEGETABLE TANNED NATURAL LEATHER

Our leather is exclusively vegetable tanned and free of chrome and other toxic chemicals. The leather used for the canvas and linen bags comes from Italy. For all other leather products we use premium cowhide from Spain, sustainably tanned with olive leaves. This innovative tanning method sets new standards in terms of environmental sustainability. The natural tannin is obtained from olive leaves - a by-product of the olive harvest, valuable and rarely used. Its production helps reduce CO2 emissions because the leaves are no longer burned. The leather tanning process not only ensures maximum sustainability and consideration of all ecological aspects, but also enables the reduction of acids, salts, syntans and dyes compared to conventional tanning processes.

PURE & NATURAL

Our vegetable tanned leather is a 100% natural material and develops its beauty over time. It will develop a unique patina and therefore its very own identity. It is not coated with polyurethane like many conventionally manufactured leathers. This means that the surface remains natural and breathable, authentic traces in the skin are retained and underline its authenticity.

COTTON CANVAS & LINEN

For our basic bag collection we use linen fabric and 18oz cotton canvas, manufactured to traditional English standards. The linen and twisted cotton canvas are primarily intended for outdoor use and outdoor items and are therefore extremely durable and water and dirt repellent. Both fabrics are made in Italy by a traditional family business that specializes in innovative outdoor fabrics. They meet our need for durability and stability - and thus contribute to the longevity of our handmade goods. In addition, EU production keeps transport emissions as low as possible.
