I’m more the nordic type, but when it comes to vacation in the southern part of Europe I prefer one special place: Hydra. This little island is just 90 boat minutes away from Athens, located in the Aegean Sea. As cars and motorcycles are not allowed on Hydra, the peaceful atmosphere is only interrupted by a donkey’s shout or the chattering of people sitting in the harbor restaurants.
I’ve been there for the second time now – thanks to lovely Dimitrios – and had a wonderful stay. It’s simply beautiful, especially at this time of the year. It was all about eating tons of Greek yogurt, swimming in the clear, turquoise water, relaxing on the sunny terrace and stroking the Hydra cats. Just perfect!
